    Carolyn,
Your comment that black people don't rock was not only very narrow minded but it was also downright rude!
There are plenty of African Americans besides Jim Hendrix who can rock. Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Bo Diddley and plenty of others from the old days. Prince, Michael Jackson, Lenny Kravitz and plenty of others from the modern era.
And who do you listen to? There is more out there besides Brittney Spears and Ashley Simpson you know!

I think that Ty commenting that he feels that the fans did not vote for him because he was black was not exactly accurate. I can't speak for everyone, but to me he was not the right man for INXS because he was not the best fit for the band. His hair, clothing, singing style, etc. are different from the hair, clothing and singing style of INXS. Ty is definitely talented, is very handsome, has beautiful teeth, and has a star-quality, but to me he isn't the best fit for the band.

Ty..all the best to you. You are a wonderful person and very talented. I really enjoyed all your performances. Top-notch! Love ya.

Okay, I was shocked that Ty was departing tonight, cuz out of the bottom three, he put forth the better show. He did a great job on the song by INXS, so I couldn't comprehend why they sent HIM home. I really never thought they would use him for the band but, at least America got a lot of time watching this talented singer and writer perform -- Best Of Luck!

I'm a white chick who knows greatness when she hears it. And Ty you are it. I wish I was in the majority, but I'm not. Ty nailed it on the head tonight, and he did it with respect, courage and class. That took guts. The demographics of this show did negatively impact him. Race was an issue. The age groups that are voting in large numbers are mostly white and the show has not attracted a large minority following. Most people vote for (and hire) someone they identify with and who often resembles themselves. At the end of the day a black man with such tremendous talent, boundless energy and soul with a bigger than life persona and a spiked mohawk would leave most bands in his shadow--including inxs. Now you have the spotlight Ty, on to bigger and better things!

RACE? I thought he was talking about being gay. (tongue in cheek)
Seriously, Ty you are a lovely man with a great stage persona. The key word here being 'stage'. You are not a rocker.
You are wonderful but you are not a rocker.
And what is with all you idiots making this a race thing? Ty - get a bloody grip.Everyone knows black people don't rock. OK - excuse me.......... Hendrix was black. Name me someone else..........please!!!!!

    FINALLY! ................................................
At long last, the obvious has been voiced. On the August 31 episode of Rock Star INXS, Ty Tyson made a eloquent and needed point that African Americans are at a disadvantage on reality tv shows. The voting public seems biased against African Americans and - as happened on this episode of the show, Ty made a undeserved early exit. His exit was not in vain, however. He used it to bring home a great point of discrimination. This 33 year old white girl from Jersey sends you her kudos, Ty!

    BRAVO!

ty is so friggin full of himself that he should be ashamed to bring the race card in this show.If it was about race your ass would have been gone long ago.Maybe it was the fact that he fogot the lyrics and just didn,t sound good tonight or last night.Ty you are a good singer and remember that but keep race out of it asshole!!

Ty has no class whatsoever. To leave basically alledging that he got the boot because of his race? I knew he had an ego, but didn't realize he was as arrogant as I suspected. Uninspiring voice/fake personality...he lasted longer than he should have.

In my opinion, Ty's best performances were the earlier ones when he seemed to be "himself". Ty is better as an "original", and the molding and shaping is messing with his juju. Two words TY - BE YOURSELF! Don't put yourself in a box. Some people are meant to be "front men" - but some are meant to be the STAR! You're it baby! No matter what happens.

As far as a suggested song - Anything by Led Zepp from the LZII LP would be awesome!

Maureen, "All Along the Watchtower" is a Bob Dylan song which Hendrix did a fantastic arrangement of. It would creep me out to see Ty go all theatrical on it, and believe, me I'm being nice here. Go listen to Dylan's "John Wesley Harding " and then tellme you want Ty singing that song. Speaking of which, has anybody sung " Like a Rolling Stone " yet?

What's happening to Ty in the voting has really been breaking my heart. Ty has such a sunny personality onstage, and his voice, which I initially underestimated, gets stronger and more soulful every week. Maybe that's what's happening--maybe people think his strengths may be better suited to other material than INXS, I don't know. I think another thing people may be reacting to is sometimes his stage demeanor is at odds with the song--"Maggie May" has a mournful undertone, but he was sticking out his tongue like he was having the best time in the world. I still thought his rendition was great, and he didn't deserve to be in the bottom 3 that week or last week either. I think he's been singing his heart out and doing a fabulous job. He did a great job tonight. I don't want to see anyone leave anymore, and I'd like to see Ty stay and hope he does. I think he'd do a great job with an pop-alternative anthem type of song like Tears for Fears "Shout" or REM's "Finest Worksong" or even Madonna's "Like a Prayer" (not alternative, exactly but just the kind of chorus he really wants to be doing, I think.

I request Ty perform an encore of "Nobody Hurts". I believe its the best performance out of the options listed. The original key is easy and right for him, he's comforatble with the style, plus this vocal requires consistent power and stamina, without having to scream. Dang......... He can even control his vibrato!!

Best of luck, Ty I jus tlove to see you perform!!
    oops! Break a leg....
