    August 27th

DEANNA - The house is not a home without you.
JESSICA - There's a lot less "f*%k" being said around here.
BRANDON - Hope you're bluesing and boozing enough for all us out there.
TARA - I miss your beauty around the mansion.
HEATHER - Hope the road is leading you to a field of butterflies.
DAPHNA - Still thinking about your red silk panties.
NEAL - I wear your voice whenever I try and learn an INXS tune. All of our inside lyric jokes still make me smile.
WILL - Hope you're still doing our dance. I do it at least once a day.
I am so honored to be singing "You Can't Always Get What You Want" this week. The Stones are gods. I grew up singing in choirs so I hope I can keep it together. I look forward to performing for you again. It's always more than a pleasure.
    Peace Please

i have a story for you:
i went into an audition last year in nashville for a gig..... i blazed every drummer in there, and didn't get picked because it would have cost the company over 3thousand dollars a month to fly me back and forth... so they went with a guy who was 4th on the list but who lived in nashville. check out a band called RA.
if you want more info on me, check out my myspace.com/tazdrum or email me...maybe i can send you some music of my playing...i have some things in mind..

Hey Ty! I hope you are still reading along in here. You are a consumate performer with amazing talents. To my ear, even your rock, like "Proud Mary" has a blues sound to it. And that is good. It is YOUR style and you own it best of all. But obviously it wasn't exactly what INXS was hearing and looking for. I can't imagine the hurt of being cut but playing the race card was beneath the extremely dignified person you'd shown yourself to be. You are a star! And as such, you will have a career in music, a big one and it will be you, singing whatever song, in your own special way, puttin' on a great show!

Never stoop down, man...Rise up! I look forward to your first CD 'cause I'll be lined up to buy it for sure!

I completely agree with Gabriella (Well said, Gabriella!!). Ty, be strong, you'll find your way. To tell you the truth, I knew you were going to be cut that night, and I think you felt it too and you were absolutely right about the reasons why.
I just watched the Monday night show and there was some uneasiness and uncomfortable energy with the remaining rockers at the mansion... it doesn't take much to know why Ty was sent home. I'm not putting the blame on INXS particularly, because I think that their goal #1 is to make money (not a very noble one), and those fans are the ones who buy the CD's. But it wasn't a good choice on their part not to address the issue: when Ty was in the botton 3 for the second time, they should have said, like they did for the women, that they're open to having all kinds of different singers, that it wasn't an issue with them.
For those who say that racism doesn't exist anymore in America since it's 2005 and that he pulled "the race card", they must be very very young... and blind, and deaf. It is not even close to being non-existent. It is not the year that indicates that it is or is not real, it's people's behavior, and until they stop, it will still be here in the year 10000. If the people who made the comments don't have racism in you, then good for them.

Ty, you're a very beautiful person and handled yourself well, stay that way. Start your own band, we will buy your CD's... me and my friends are big fans.

I'm a 50 year old woman married to a well-known rock musician.I want to tell you first of all how wonderful you are,and also that I agree completely that racism was the factor in your being eliminated,Having been around this business for years,I've seen how hard it is for anyone other than white boys to make it as a rock singer.I was friends with Jimi Hendrix, and I believe he was the exception not only because he was a genius, but because it was the "60's and we were far more open to possibilites then ,compared with the conservative society we now live in.You are tremendously talented and charismatic, and I believe way too cool for a band like INXS.The truth is,I think they really loved your work, but in the end caved in to the unfair voting system. You are a true star, and you are going to be very successful.Don't give up! You will find the place you're supposed to be in,and nothing will stop you.I'll really miss seeing and hearing you,and I wish you much love and luck.

    To Will Moses,
That has to be the weakest comment on here dude. Your saying TY got voted out because his black and doesnt look like Michael Hutchence, and that he has the greatest amount of talent and thats why he deserves it. Then you go on and slam the rest of the contestants on their looks alone! That is weak and shameful. It seems that you have the issues relating to race, not our society and certainly not the show. I mean Jordis is a black female, by your logic she should have been out long ago cause she isnt white and cause she isnt male.
You sound like a fool and your comments are foolish. Shame on you.

If Rock Star: INXS had pre-recorded all performances, studio recordings, and clinic work, and chose their singer based on the best stage performer, the best voice, and the most knowledgeable songwriter, the overwhelming winner of this competition would've been TY. But, because Ty looks different from Michael Hutchence because he's black, and looks more suited to take over for Corey Glover from Living Colour because he's black, but sings INXS songs better than anyone else in the competition... he has been eliminated. That is a sad comment on our society... not because of race, but because people are not willing to accept the differences of others.

If you're voting because you think that you know what INXS wants in their band, then you're a fool. INXS will decide that... or, at least the producers of the show will decide how it should play out. But, if you're voting for the best total package that encompasses a lead singer, you should've been voting for Ty.

Let's face it, reality dictates that you cannot cloak the contestants and shroud them from INXS or the audience so that we can decide who has the best voice for INXS, and who is the best stage performer with a sheet over their heads (although that might be the makings of a severely politically incorrect, but highly entertaining reality show). It is the differences in these contestants that INXS and America is choosing. So, let's compare the differences.

Does INXS want a 20 year old hippy woman with dreadlocks as their lead singer?

Does INXS want a long blonde Cobain tribute band singer who is basically doing impressions of other lead singers (Marty)?

    Does INXS want JD?

Does INXS want a hyper-emotional Suzie? Great voice but Rock Star? more on this later.

Does INXS want an dark-haired Australian? A guy from their home country who can wail?

Bing, bing, bing. We have a winner. The guy with the most similarities will probably win this competition.

You know what. Maybe he won't. Has he cried yet? INXS should choose their lead singer on one simple criteria... the one who doesn't cry.

    ROCK STARS DON'T CRY!!!

When they get pissed, they slam the microphone down on the stage, walk offstage, tell America to F off because they are all racists, and punch a roadie.

Maybe Ty has a little more to learn about being a rock star, but one out of four ain't bad. It's better than the rest of those POP stars left in the competition... and he's a great performer.

    Dear Ty,
So extermely sad to see you leaving. You were one of my favorites and I gave you 30 votes the other night !
You are a mega talented guy and if the public did not think you were right for INXS, that certainly doesn't mean you aren't good enough to make it on your own. You have received great publicity and now have a huge following...please pursue that. I am in total agreement that blacks are not, represented enough in Rock, but please view that as a challenge to overcome and not a barrier. You rock dude and we loved you ...I cried last night for you ..especially because of your kind spirit. Always keep that spirit because it is part of what makes you beautiful....that and yyour gorgeous smile !!! Your comment may have been taken wrong by some last night, but I understood....but this is one white girl saying I love your singing and performances....don'tstop....get a CD and watch and see, they will come, they will buy. You are loved by so many and I am honored to have had the many opportunities to watch you perform, you are professional and right on the mark....go get um tiger !!!!!!
I will miss you, but never forget you.

Ty, I loved your performances, in fact I don't remember even one that did not please me. However, you are a little too "punk" to suit INXS...not that punk is bad, it's just, try to picture Gwen Stefani taking over as lead singer for Jessica Simpson's crowd...it's not a match. I love your style, I love your voice, I LOVE your performances, but I could not see you leading for INXS. I think God has a bigger plan for you, please trust in that! I'll gladly buy your music AS YOUR MUSIC when you let us know when and where. I believe you will do more without INXS that you could have if you'd won the competition. I hope you do.

    Ty-

I was horrified by your incredibly ungracious exit from Rock Star: INXS. I now feel stupid for buying your "Peace Please" image of the Enlightened Optimist, when you've revealed yourself to be yet another crass, excuse-making race hustler. I had always been thrilled to see you perform, and felt genuinely sad for you when you kept getting called into the bottom three.

It's tough to see any of you go, but at this point in the competition, with only five (now four) people left, hard decisions have to be made that have nothing....absolutely nothing....to do with the color of your skin.

You insult your fellow contestants, the members of INXS, the house band, your fans and, most of all, YOURSELF by defining your loss in starkly racial terms.

I suggest that you do a better job of living by your "Peace Please" phrase by refraining from inflamatory racial connotations...which only divide and stir up chaos....rather than the peace you supposedly say "please" for.

I think you really did irreparable damage to your future prospects by saying such a stupid thing, Ty. I feel sorry for you.

I loved you from the first week the show started, you were my favourite performer. Your sultry looks and that sweet voice were awesome to listen to. I did vote for you but for the last couple of weeks I haven't. It wasn't because of your voice or who you were it was because I didn't think you were right for INXS. You deserve to be big on your own. I would definitely buy your album. I was a little upset about the "race card" being used though but we all lash out when we are hurt.

I look forward to seeing you outside of this venue. Keep rockin.

You seemed like an intelligent, positive individual, until last night, your comments regarding race predjudice were completely unfounded. It's unfortunate that your judgement is clouded enough to think that was the case. Yes, you are immensly talented but you wear your ego on your sleeve. People appreciate confidence but not arrogance that is precisely why you were in the bottom three on more than one occassion, it wasn't due to a lack of talent. Last night your performance wasn't the best and as in all contests someone had to be eliminated. Take the chip off of your shoulder, learn humility, and go on, you will be successful now matter what the future brings.

Ty... dude... what were you thinking?!
Like most people who've written today, I am a huge fan of both the show and your performances. However, I am terribly saddened that you chose to go out with such shockingly, ungracious comments.
The bottom line is that we vote for the best person to be part of the band INXS! The future of the institution called INXS and their music is paramount here - not one sex or the other, not one hairstyle or the other, and certainly not one race or the other!
Your comments about "my people" (meaning African American people) were completely inappropriate. Why in the world would you do such a thing?!
If by "my people", you'd meant spiked-mohawk wearing, solo performers, then yes, we voted agains "your people". But, by saying what you did, you managed to perfectly illustrate the racism that you accused the American people of.
I am still a fan and I know you will go far, but please do yourself a favor, give people a chance before shutting them down with your own preconceived notions - that is discrimination in its purest form.

You are an amazing singer and performer. Don't let this loss stop you. If I were you, once the competition is over, I would reconnect with some of the other competitors that have talent and whom you respect and start a band together (as long as it doesn't include JD)! Use this defeat as an opportunity to prove to the world that they haven't seen the last of you. After all, over 6 million people in the US alone have tuned in to hear you sing each week.

Robert - Thank you for your "second." I am a longtime INXS fan. I was surprised to hear Terence Trent D'Arby had fronted for them and VERY sad I missed that. I am a HUGE fan of both. What a show!

I think Ty could have been an amazing Broadway performer, but those comments at the end just horrified me. It's about like listening to Michael Jackson say "racist."

I dont' even know who will win now, there's a HUGE legacy to fill. But now, I see, if Ty had fronted INXS and there had been low ticket sales in Iceland...he'd probably yell "RACE."

    It was beyond pitiful....
